The Supreme Court on Tuesday granted the Trump Administration the rights to ending the once in a decade count of people in our nation earlier than the extension that was put in place from COVID-19. This request was made for America to have a quicker turnout at the ballots in this years monumental election. Trump's staff have come to bring this up as a gripe for the urgency of how much is at stake for their campaign and operations in the already moving presidency. Many local advocates throughout the country in California, Florida, and Washington D.C. have come to resist this for the competency of how much this sacrifice would greatly effect the people in this country; specifically minorities for the next 10 years and this is how.
The U.S. Census is one of many recollection programs to help the federal government keep track of the inner workings of our nation for what it needs, who lives here, etc. They are a branch of the U.S. Department of Commerce who are in charge of who gets what and how much they get in our country. All those schools being funded more than others, those after school programs in some areas compared to none at all; these are all contributed to the statistics reported by the census and decisions of the Department of Commerce. Which is why it is imperative that we do our part as citizens and builders in our own communities alike.
Trumps Admin. has already requested in court to not let immigrants which was then rejected and further pursued once again by them. This was made through an order from Trump stating that the census not count illegal immigrants as people in our country. This census end being granted is big because of the minorities who could potentially not be represented in our country because of careless decisions made in a rush to make sure we have an efficient and swift election. If we can not get the percentage of people regardless of race, creed, and color to be shown to our federal government then we are the ones who will suffer in our own communities financially which will ripple into our socioeconomics.
It is crucial we vote this upcoming election and be willing to wait in line to do what it takes. Because if we do not; it will not stop at just an election of a census decision. The crime, the racism, the oppression of all minorities socially and economically get bigger and it is not those in the higher bracket that suffers because of these situations in our country; it is us and always will be. This is the reason why we, including myself, need to vote for the decisions made in our country. It could be much worse and based on the way 2020 is; this could not be any worse a time than now.
